Edition/Basel 2021 Session 1

The artists chose the title Learning to Whisper as a starting point for making their artworks. The 12 days of collaborative printmaking culminated in an exhibition at Salon Mondial at Atelier Mondial in Basel, Switzerland. This process video uses photos and videos made by the artists to record their work and techniques, and to bring together those artists working in Basel and abroad – even if only on a screen. For many of the artists, it marked a return to collaborative art-making after a year and a half of isolation. The artwork was made at Druckwerk studio in Basel, and at the remote artists’ home studios in San Francisco, California and the Hudson Valley of New York.
